Day 1 Kunming Arrival

Our Kunming private tour guide will meet you at the exit of Kunming airport holding with a welcome signal "China Private Tour" and escort you to your hotel. The rest day is free on your own to explore Kunming city.

Day 2 Kunming

In the morning, you will be taken to visit the biggest ethnic minority theme village in Kunming-Yunnan Nationalities Village.  Yunnan Nationalities Village is located on the Bank of Dianchi Lake. It is a window to show the social and cultural customs of the 26 ethnic groups in Yunnan. It is also an indispensable link for you to understand the culture of Kunming ethnic minorities. It is a collection of 25 ethnic minority villages in Yunnan, such as Dai, Bai, Yi, Naxi, WA, Bulang, Jinuo, Lahu, Tibetan, Jingpo, Hani, De'ang, Zhuang, Miao, Shui, Nu, Mongolian, Buyi, Dulong, Susu, Pumi, Manchu, Hui, Yao and Achang.

In addition to understanding the architectural styles, costumes and customs of various ethnic groups in Yunnan, the village can also watch laser fountains, water screen films, folk songs and dances, and elephant performances. Our professional tour guide will explain the customs of various ethnic minorities for you. At the same time, various minority activities will be held in various ethnic villages, such as "march street", Dai's "Water Splashing Festival", Yi's "Torch Festival", Susu's "Dao Gan Festival", Jingpo's "Mu Nao Zongge" and Naxi's "three flower festival".

After the typical ethnic lunch, you will be taken to the Western Hill, where you can have a bird views of the hole Kunming  city and Dianchi lake. Standing on the Hills, you can have a magnificent overview of Lake Dianchi. On the Hills are several grand temples and pavilions, such uo Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Sanqing Pavilion,etc. The stairways leading to the Dragon Gate are carved out of the cliffs, which attract many tourists.

At last, drive back to your hotel in Kunming.

Day 3 Kunming-Jianshui-Kunming-Pu'er

Check out from your hotel in the early morning, then drive about 2 hours to get to the Jianshui. 

You tour start with the Jianshui Old Town. Located 220 kilometers south of Kunming. It was called Butou in ancient times. After 12 centuries of construction, it has preserved more than 50 ancient buildings, known as "Museum of ancient architecture" and "Museum of folk houses". Among them, the most famous scenic spots are: Zhujia garden, Zhangjia garden, Chaoyang tower and Twins Dragon Bridge.

After lunch, drive back to the Kunming city and get to the Kunming railway station to catch the train to Pu'er city. Stay overnight in Pu'er.

Day 4 Pu'er-Menglun-Pu'er

In the morning, you will sightseeing around the Plum Lake, located in Meizi River, 4.5 km southeast of Simao District, Pu'er City. It was originally a reservoir and was turned into a park in 1982. It is named because it intercepts the Meizi River, builds a dam to store water and becomes an artificial lake. There are fish ponds and small-scale animal breeding garden in the park, and the catering and comprehensive entertainment service facilities are perfect.

After lunch, drive to the Menghan County, where Dai Ethnic Garden located. It is very similar to the Yunnan minority Park in Kunming. It mainly displays Dai culture, architecture and ethnic customs. Within the Dai Ethnic Garden, five Dai villages – Manjiang, Manchunman, Manting, ManZha, and Manga – cover an area of 3.36 square kilometers and consist of 309 families, or 1487 individual villagers.

Drive back to your hotel in Pu'er.

Day 5 Pu'er-Kunming-Guiyang

Transferred to the Pu'er railway station in the morning, you will take the train to Kunming first, then change to the Guiyang city. Opon arrival in Guiyang, drive back to your hotel. Free on your own to explore the nearby cities.

Day 6 Guiyang-Kaili

In the morning, take a train to Kaili city. And you will first visit Datang Miao village, which is a village famous for its women' short skirts and waterproof granaries. The most extraordinary thing about this is that the females of Datang wear their short skirts all year round, even in freezing winter. Well dressed up Miao girls are performing dance for tourists. You'll be captivated by their charming miniskirts.

After lunch at the local Miao village restaruant, continue your tour to stroll in the village and to learn more about minorities' custom and culture of Southeastern Guizhou in Kaili Ethnic Minorities Museum.

Then drop you off your hotel after the tour ends.

Day 7 Kaili-Zhenyuan

After breakfast, go and visit the Shidong Piantou Miao Village (1 hours by driving), the village accepts hundreds of visitors to join in famous Sisters' Meal Festival (always on April) every year. In the normal period, the village seems quiet but still remains lots of cultural things to discover. 

In the afternoon, you will be taken to the Zhenyuan County (about 2 hours). Stay overnight in Zhenyuan.

Day 8 Zhenyuan-Xijiang

In the morning, pay a visit to the Zhenyuan Ancient Town, which is reputed as the “Oriental Venice”. Zhenyuan ancient town is a museum of architectural culture in mountainous areas. There are more than 160 famous ancient buildings in Qinglong cave, ancient dwellings in Ming and Qing Dynasties, ancient lanes, ancient docks, ancient city walls, etc., with high ornamental value and scientific research value.

In the afternoon, drive to the Xijiang and explore Xijiang Miao Village, the largest Miao village in Asia, with more than 1000 Miao households. While walking on the paths, you will appreciate an amazing view of the river valley with terraced fields, intricate wooden houses, enjoy Miao’s traditional clothing, daily life and join to sing and dance.

Stay overnight in Xijiang and Feel the night scene of Xijiang Miao Village.

Day 9 Xijiang-Guiyang

Free on your own until drive you to catch the train back to Guiyang (Guiyang train station, airport). Our service ends.
