Our guide was a chengdu native and she took us to places we never would have found on our own. The mapo tofu at a tiny fly restaurant near kuanzhai alley was the best we had in china. She explained the difference between mala and other spice profiles and we actually understood the local cuisine after that day. Driver was patient when we wanted extra time at the panda base.
