This trip was not just about stunning landscapes, but also an immersion into China’s rich cultural heritage. The visit to Taer Monastery in Xining gave us insight into Tibetan Buddhism, and the Dongguan Mosque in Zhangye was a reminder of the region’s Islamic history. This was a journey through both nature and culture, and I feel like I left with a much greater appreciation of this unique part of China.
