Daocheng County
Daocheng County, the ancient name of "Daoba", means the open land of valley and Gully in Tibetan language. Daocheng County is located in the southwest edge of Sichuan Province in China, belonging to Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Kangba Tibetan region. It was divided into Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province in 1955. At present, there are 2828 local people, including 26954 Tibetans.

Weather & Climate
Daocheng County is located in the subtropical climate zone. Affected by the complex terrain of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, Daocheng County presents the characteristics of plateau climate and continental climate. It belongs to plateau monsoon climate. The weather is sunny and sunny most of the year. The annual effective light reaches about 1750 hours. It is rainy and foggy in summer and rainy in the afternoon.

By Flight
Daocheng Yading Airport
Daocheng Yading airport is located in Haizishan Mountain, with a straight-line distance of 35 km and a highway distance of about 50 km from Daocheng County. It is the highest civil airport in the world. The construction of Daocheng Yading airport was officially started on June 6, 2012 and officially opened on September 16, 2013. In 2019, the total passenger throughput of Daocheng Yading airport is 226273. There is no railway station in Daocheng. At present, the most common way to get to Daocheng Yading is by flight.

By Bus
Kangding-Daocheng
There's only one bus from Kangding to Daocheng via Litang, leaving Kangding early in the morning. The journey normally takes about 11h. There are minivans departing for Daocheng outside the bus station in Litang. Journey times is normally 3 hours.

Chengdu-Daocheng
There are only Xinanmen Bus Station arranges buses to Daocheng from Chengdu which leaves at 10:00am every morning and costs 240 yuan. It will take two days, about 22 hours. It will stop at Kangding Bus Station and tourists can arrange their accommodation themselves. And arriving at Daocheng the next day at around 18:00. But be noticed that it will be canceled affected by the bad weather condition. Tourists should call and check the schedule with the bus station before they go.

Public Transportation
1. By Chartered Vehicle
It is the best way to get to Yading Scenic Area from Daocheng County. The chartered vehicle costs about 50 yuan per person and varies in peak season and low season.

2. By Bikes
Bike is the best way to get around Daocheng County within 10 kilometers. The price is about 15 - 20 yuan per day.

3. By Taxi
It is convenient to take taxi to get around in Daocheng. About 8 yuan, you can get anywhere in the county.

4. By Shuttle Bus
In the Yading Scenic Area, the most convenient way to get around is to take shuttle bus provided by the scenic area. Tourists purchase the tickets with the shuttle bus fee (120 yuan per person).

5. By Caravan
The mountain road from Luorong Cattle Camp to Niunai Lake is steep for tourists to get through. It will take about 6 hours by hiking and 4 hours by riding horse to make a round trip.

Tourism
Daocheng County is the Daocheng Shangri La eco-tourism area with Aden as its core. It gathers magnificent landscapes such as snow mountains, glaciers, lakes, grasslands and waterfalls. It is known as "The soul of Shangri La in China" and "The last pure land on the blue planet".

The main scenic spots of Yading in Daocheng are: Yading Nature Reserve, Rewu Temple, Xingyicuo Lake, Mengzi Grand Canyon, Azalea Hot Spring Villa, Dongyi River, Okushan mountain, Niulangshen mountain, Sheshen Cliff, Nisheng Lake, Five Color Lake, etc.

About Altitude Sickness
Altitude Sickness is divided into 3 syndromes: Acute mountain sickness (AMS), high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE), and high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). AMS is the most common form of altitude illness, affecting. Before traveling to Daocheng, you must pay attention to whether your body can move in high altitude areas. Before entering the high mountain, you should carry out adaptive exercise on psychology and physique. If possible, you'd better carry out intermittent hypoxia stimulation and acclimatization exercise in the low-pressure cabin, so that the body can have a certain degree of physiological adjustment from the plain to the plateau hypoxia environment.

How to relieve altitude sickness?
(1) Appropriate treatment: transfer to live at sea level where possible.
(2) Oxygen therapy: oxygen inhalation can effectively relieve high altitude sickness.
(3) Drugs: proper drugs can improve oxygen saturation.
(4) Venous bleeding: venous bleeding can be used as a temporary treatment.
Note:In most cases, the symptoms were relieved or disappeared after they were fully adapted within 12-36 hours.
