Oriental Buddha Capital

Overview
Oriental Buddha capital - China's fifth largest grottoes, located in Lingyun peak, Leshan. It has more than ten thousand formal Buddha statues, including the world's largest giant Sleeping Buddha, with a total length of 170 meters, mainly made of cliff stone sculptures. There are more than 100 Grottoes in the cave, which not only shows the charm of Buddhist culture for thousands of years, but also leaves the footprints of modern people to inherit the ancient stone sculpture art. At the same time, the forest covers a wide range of primitive natural simplicity.

Culture & Background
Both Oriental Buddha capital and Leshan Giant Buddha belong to Lingyun Jiufeng of Leshan City. In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism was forbidden for a long time, so a large number of Buddhist temples, stone carvings, books and monks were destroyed and expelled, even the Oriental Buddhas were not spared. 

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism was able to return to the historical stage, while the Oriental Buddhist capital retained the original landscape of the Tang Dynasty, it also better inherited the culture of Leshan Giant Buddha.

Main Attractions

Sleeping Giant Buddha
Sleeping Giant Buddha has about 170 meters long. It takes Dazu stone carvings as its prototype (originally 23 meters), and uses the extension of the natural mountain to carve its head in the South and feet in the north. The natural mountain vegetation is preserved in the middle, just like a sleeping Sakyamuni Buddha covered with green. The Buddha head is 24 meters long, 32.7 meters wide, 4.5 meters wide, and 115 hair bun. Each is 1 meter in diameter and 10.2 meters wide in the instep.

The ten thousand Buddha cave
The ten thousand Buddha cave is the core scenic spot of the Oriental Buddha capital. The cave is excavated along the mountain with great momentum. The Buddha statues in the cave are built on the original stone of the whole mountain according to the traditional techniques of the ancients. The ten thousand Buddha cave has filled the gap of Leshan Giant Buddha grottoes, including Bodhisattvas, Arhats and Buddha statues from all over the world. It can be called the fifth largest group of Grottoes in China.

Subdue demons Pond (Xiangyao Pond)
The Subdue demons Pond tells a mythical story. When Sakyamuni became a Buddha and sat under the bodhi tree, countless female demons appeared in front of him, trying to tempt Sakyamuni and interfere with his cultivation. And Sakyamuni always held the attitude of turning a blind eye.

Transportation
1. Chengdu Shuangliu Airport: take a taxi directly to the scenic spot, and then take the bus No.3 or No.13 bus to Leshan City.
2. Chengdu Railway Station: take a taxi to the scenic spot, take the bus to Leshan City, and then take the city bus No.3 or No.13 to the scenic spot.
3. Chengdu Passenger Transport Center Station: take the bus from Chengdu North Railway Station Passenger Center Station and Xinnanmen passenger transport center station to Xiaoba tourist station in Leshan, and then take bus No.13 to the scenic spot.
4. Chengdu shiyangchang station: Chengdu shiyangchang station: take the bus to Leshan passenger transport center station, and then take the No.3 bus to the scenic spot.
